Andhra Style Chicken Curry

  • 3 Table Spoon Refined Oil
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 3 Green Cardamom
  • 1 Small Cinnamon
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 Table Spoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • 1/2 Kg Chicken Cut into Small Pieces
  • 1 Table Spoon Turmeric
  • Salt As Per Taste
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 Green Chilies Slited
  • Curry Leaves Handful
  • Poppy Seed Paste
  • 2 Tea Spoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Table Spoon Cashew Nuts
  • 2 Tea Spoon Chicken Masala
  • 2 Tea Spoon Kasoori Methi
  • 1 Tea Spoon Garam Masala
  • 2 Tea Spoon Dhanaiya Powder
  • Coriander Leaves Chopped

How to Make

  1. To make Andhra style chicken curry takes a kadhae/wok and put refined oil into it. After the oil gets heated add green cardamom, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon and let them fry for few minutes till they start releasing an aroma.
  2. After this, add chopped onion and sauté it till it turns golden brown in color. After your onions are fried properly add ginger-garlic paste into it and mix all the ingredients well for a minute or two.
  3. Then take the chicken pieces and add them in this mixture and sauté it till they start changing their color.
  4. When you can see the chicken changing its color add salt and turmeric and toss for a minute. After this add water into it.
  5. Let the mixture cook for few minutes after which add cashew nut, chili powder, poppy seed paste, chicken masala, kasoori methi, coriander powder and garam masala and mix everything well. Let the curry cook on simmer till the chicken is cooked properly.
  6. You can add water if required.
  7. Your Andhra style chicken curry is ready. Put it in a bowl and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or chapatti.
