Recently HRD Ministry made NCERT textbooks compulsory for all the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools. The decision was taken to ensure adequate supply of quality education and make the curriculum standard. This practice also ensured the delivery of books at affordable prices and without any delays. Earlier, the delay of books or the shortage made the schools to choose the private publisher which in take made them spend more and provide costlier books to students as well. To ensure the adequate supply of books, CBSE asked all the CBSE schools to order NCERT books online at one go, so that there is no problem faced by anybody in future.
Every year, NCERT prints and supplies the limited number of textbooks for all the classes from 1 to 12 through various channels of distributing vendors across the country.
