National Film Awards 2017 Honours Akshay Kumar as the Best Actor

Akshay Kumar has always been known for his choices of film and above that his outstanding performances. He never leaves a dot in his hard work and dedication to do the complete justice to the role. He has given numerous hits and great performances in his career spanning over two decades, in which he has done more than 100 films. But has not won many awards. He has been nominated for Filmfare Awards several times, winning it two times. It has always been a highlighted issue after every award event as for why Akshay Kumar is not awarded for his recent superhit films like Rustom, Baby, Airlift and many more which deserves. But Akshay’s fans should be proud and happy for their Khiladi’s achievement. He was awarded with Padma Shri in 2009 and also in the same year he was awarded with IIFA, “Most Powerful Entertainer of the Decade Award“. Khiladi proved himself a real Khiladi of Bollywood on Friday afternoon (April 7) when he won the 64th National Award 2017 for Best Actor for Rustom.

Akshay Kumar expressed his happiness over the National award win. He said, “It is great news. National Film awards are the most prestigious awards in the country. It is a moment of pride for sure. He further added it is a mix of many emotions- surprise, happiness and he took no time to thank and show gratitude to the jury, makers of the film, to his parents, wife and of course to the beloved fans.”

He also appreciated Sonam Kapoor as she received a special mention for Neerja at National Awards. Akshay and Sonam are currently shooting for R Balki’s Padman.
