Sanjay Dutt is one of the popular superstars of Bollywood with numerous hits in his list. But the life of Sanjay Dutt has always been around controversies. He was arrested under the (TADA) Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) act in April 1993. After years of the case, Sanjay Dutt surrendered himself and completed the punishment sentenced by the court. After serving his sentence with good behaviour and conduct, he was released on 25 February 2016.
Since, the time news for the Sanjay Dutt’s biopic got confirmed; it has been the hot topic of Bollywood.
Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the Dutt’s character. Manisha Koirala will be playing Sanjay’s mother Nargis. Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza are also likely to be seen in the movie.
Sanjay Dutt requested Hirani to find the most capable actor to portray the role of his father as he is more interested to see is father’s role. The director assured him they will get the most able actor to play the legendary star on screen. The director Raj Kumar Hirani approached Aamir Khan to play Sunil Dutt on screen, but Aamir Khan denied playing the role of Dutt’s father. Later, the role was offered to Paresh Rawal, and he will be seen playing Sunil Dutt.
Shooting of the film began on January 2017. The film has not been titled yet.
Ranbir Kapoor’s hard work
Ranbir Kapoor is working really hard to display the character as real as possible on screen. He is doing all the efforts and is going extra miles to do the justice to the biopic.
He has put on 13 Kgs to look closer to Sanjay dutt. He is also getting his body inked as Sanjay dutt has on his body. He has been learning his style of talking and walking since months.
Dutt has spent many months in jail; Ranbir Kapoor to turn that phase of the biopic real is spending a week in Bhopal jail.
Ranbir Kapoor would be seen playing three phases of Sanjay Dutt’s life and in each phase he will be seen in a different looks.
Raj Kumar Hirani has given four super hits, which took him to the National Films Award and to the Film fare Award. He is excited for his upcoming film which is a biopic and is challenging as well. He said: “they are targeting a Christmas 2017 release for the film”.
Director Hirani says that Ranbir reminds him of Sanjay from his rocky days. For the first time when he saw Ranbir in the character’s get up thought it was Sanjay. Ranbir is working hard to play the role in the span from 21-56 years.
