The ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar took Twitter on Thursday to announce the release of the trailer of Sachin: A Billion Dreams. The film is based on his life, his career, his struggle, and his victories. The trailer was launched at PVR Juhu. Within 24 hours, the trailer got more than 5 million views on YouTube and 5 million views on Facebook. The hashtag #SachinABillionDreams was in trend on Twitter for the Thursday night. Twitter could not stop talking about the trailer and wishing the Master Blaster for the same.
Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday said “the upcoming movie Sachin: A Billion Dreams is not just about cricket. This movie is not just about my cricket career. It has many different chapters and we have tried to show those chapters as well. James has shown many sides of my personality in the movie, which many people are not aware of.”
Sachin further added that he was 10 when India won the world cup in 1983. Since then he only had one dream and that was to win the world cup. On April 2, 2011 his dream came true. Therefore winning the cricket world cup in 2011 is the most memorable moment of his career.”
About the Trailer
The trailer starts with a mischievous young Tendulkar playing a prank with his neighbour along with his friends. Sachin narrates the story saying “I was just 10-years old when India won the World Cup in 1983, that’s when my journey began. I too wanted to hold the World cup in my hands.”
His wife Anjali Tendulkar also narrates and reveals about Sachin anxiety for Cricket “Cricket was first and we were all second. We accepted it,” she says. “When the team didn’t do well, he would be so upset that he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night”. Though she has not appeared on screen in the trailer.
“For me, playing cricket was like going to a temple,” the Master Blaster says, in a trailer that’s the reason his fans consider him as God.
One of the most-awaited movie of the year “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” will hit the theatres on May 26, 2017. The film is directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and the music is composed by A.R. Rahman.
