FCA India subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has made the announcement to roll out jeep which will be made in India from Ranjangaon plant. The jeep is expected to be out by the month of June in the year 2017.
The company has already invested $280 million on this project at its installation, which is situated near Pune. FCA was the first the produce the SUV’s in India. and with this progress the company is expected to enter the domestic auto markets. And will be the fastest growing segment by the third quarter of this year.
President and MD of FCA India, Kevin Flynn said, “The local production schedule of the Jeep Compass is firmly on track and we are all set to begin local production of the Jeep brand’s global SUV by June.” He also added, “The Jeep Compass will come with several industry-first features and will set benchmarks in the Indian SUV space.”
The company also talked about the two power train options that might be offered with Jeep Compass. The two will probably be 160+ HP, 250 Nm multi-air petrol and 170+ HP, 350 Nm, diesel.
Pricing of Jeep Compass
Jeep Compass is expected to be at the price of around INR 20 lakh. The model is expected to compete SUV’s like Mahindra and Mahindra XUV 500 and also Hyundai Motor India’s Creta.
