The First “Tete-A-Tete” Between Narendra Modi and Donald Trump

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump had a conversation over phone last night. During the conversation US president called India as its “true friend”. He also invited Modi to visit White House.

When did the two have the conversation?

The two conversed over phone four days after Trump sworn-in as the 45th President of America. The dates being 24th January, Tuesday at 11.30 p.m. (Indian timings)

What all issues were discussed over the phone?

The issues regarding trade, defense and terrorism were discussed over the phone between the two.

The two great leaders discussed on to strengthen the partnership between US and India in the areas such as economy and defence. Alongside they also talked over the security in South and Central Asia.  They both agree and resolved that both US and India will stand shoulder to shoulder in the global fight against terrorism.

India now becomes the one of those countries with whom Trump ties strengthen bond.

Trumph choose to call India, after the conversation with its two immediate neighbours, Canada and Mexico on Saturday and with the leaders of Israel and Egypt on Sunday.

In a large Hindu-American gathering, Trump addresses the masses saying “ under a Trump administration, we are going to become even better friends, in fact I would take the term better out and we would be best friends.” Further he said “ we are going to gave a phenomenal future together”. He also praised Modi as a very enthusiastic leader and he looked forward to work with him. Not only this, Trump also praised Modi’s demonitization step to remove corruption. He said though it was a bold step but yes, much needed one.
