Renault India Pvt. Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault, France. In March 2010, Renault India opened a production facility in Chennai making it the Headquarter of the company in the country, where the Renault cars are manufactured with a capacity of 480,000 units with 3 shifts per day.
Renault currently offers five different cars to the Indian market each one of them are doing great and are likely to be amongst the demanding cars on road.
Renault launched Kwid in September 2015 with four different variants which has been a game changer for Renault in the Indian market and has managed to sell more than 1.3 lakh units so far. Kwid was a great success in the hatch – back category.
With that success Renault has launched a new variant to its Kwid line-up named as Kwid Climber with the price starting at Rs.4.3 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The new launch will be available in both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) modes.
The manual variant is priced at Rs.4.3 lakh while the AMT mode comes for Rs.4.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The company first showcased the Kwid climber at the auto-expo last year.
Powered by 1.0-liter SCe engine (Smart control efficiency), it also has a segment leading length, power to weight ratio, boot space, ground clearance and a cutting-edge technology. The car is also offered in a five-speed AMT version called Easy-R Gear box. The AMT version claims to return a mileage of 24.4 Kmpl while the manual version promises to run 23.0 Kmpl.
The interior of the car has orange colour combination and in terms of safety, it has been featured with a driver’s airbag and first-in-class pro-sense seat belts, along with the load limiters features.
