Indian Pork Curry With Potatoes

  • 600 Grams Pork Belly
  • 4 Medium Potatoes
  • 5 Tablespoon Meat Curry Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Tumeric Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Spring Curry Leaves
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 3-4 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 Piece cinnamon stick
  • 5 Green Cardamon Pods
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 Medium Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Medium Tomato (Chopped)
  • Salt To taste
  • Water

How to Make

  1. First, we will marinate the pork and for this, take a bowl and add turmeric powder, curry leaves, curry powder, salt, water and mix everything well.
  2. Then, take the pork meat and coat both the sides equally with the prepared mixture. When all the pork pieces are equally coated keep it aside for almost 30 minutes.
  3. After this take a frying pan and heat oil into it and add ginger garlic paste. Mix this on low flame until fragrant. Then add cardamom pods, cinnamon stick star anise, cloves and stir until everything is properly mixed.
  4. When the mixture is properly cooked, add marinated pork and stir for about 5 minutes, over medium flame. You can add small amount of water if it appears dry.
  5. Afterwards, add in chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, salt and mix everything for 2 minutes. Then add about 1/2 cup of water and stir to combine everything.
  6. Then cover it with a lid and let it cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes. Don't forget to stir in between to avoid burning. If you find that Curry is drying up, you can add 1/4 cup of warm water each time it appears to dry.
  7. Let the pork cook on low flame so that it can be tender.
  8. When your pork is cooked, add potatoes and cover it with a lid and let it cook on low flame. Don't forget to stir in between to avoid burning. If you find the dish drying up you can add small amount of water.
  9. Let the dish cook on low heat for about 10-15 minutes until potatoes become tender.
  10. Your Indian pork curry with potato is ready. Pour the dish in a bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander and serve hot.
