N Biren Singh Will Take Oath as Manipur Chief Minister

N Biren Singh finally becomes the Chief Minister of Manipur. Today, he will take oath at the Raj Bhawan in Imphal. 12 cabinet ministers including Singh will take oath.

Governer’s view:

The governor said that the BJP-led coalition has requiste numbes to form the government. Both the parties be it BJP or Congress, they simply donot have clear majority in the Assembly.

Swearing ceremony:

On being asked that how many people will take oath along with Chief Minister?

The reply was “it was yet to be worked out.” Further it was said, ‘However, It will be a small ministry and it will have representation from other allies. Four NPF MLAs met the Governor and extended their support to the BJP for government formation’

It will be the first time that BJP will be forming government in any of the Northeastern state. Congress after the great loss accused BJP of forming government through governors and indulging in ‘unfair and illegal manipulation’.

Road show by the party:

BJP President Amit Shah and other party leaders will hold a road show in Imphal.

BJP has claimed the support of 32 MLA’s in the 60 member assembly. On Sunday, a BJP delegate met the Governor with 21 party MLA’s, 4 members of NPP and each from LJP, TMC and Congress.
