First, take a non-stick pan and heat some ghee and oil in it. When the oil has heated up add cardamoms, cinnamon, bay leaves, cloves, peppercorns and onions and sauté till the onions turn golden brown.

When your onions are properly fried add the ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and again sauté for two minutes so that ingredients are properly mixed.

Then, add the tomatoes and salt in the mixture and sauté for another three to four minutes.

When all your ingredients are properly mixed add the chicken pieces and sauté on high heat for five minutes till they turn light brown. Then add yogurt and sauté for five more minutes till the dish is almost dry.

After this, add around two cups of water and mix everything well and wait for it to boil. When it comes at boiling point, cover and cook till the chicken is almost soft and done.

Then sprinkle garam masala powder on it and mix well. Cook the dish for another two to three minutes.
