Urad Dal

If you wish you can also make dal without it being soaked. There are other ways also to cook this dal and one of them is you can add tadka to dal in the end also.

  • 100 grams Urad Dal
  • Tomato Paste
  • 2 Green Chili
  • 3 teaspoon Green Coriader
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 8 Kari Patta
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 pieces Cloves
  • 8 Black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 piece Heeng
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • Salt as per taste

How to Make

  1. Take dal and wash it properly. Then soak it in the water for some time.
  2. In cooker pour some oil and add cumin seeds and other spices like turmeric, Coriander, red chilli, finely chopped green chilli, ginger paste etc and saute it all.
  3. When it is sauted, add chopped tomatoes and saute it too. Once it is done, add soaked dal to it
  4. After this add 2 cups of water to the mixture and mix it well. Close the cooker with its cover. Wait for the vessel and after it wait for the pressure to release. After this pour the dal in serving bowl and sprinkle coriander leaves, then serve hot.
