Ingredients for Veg Momos
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 2 Tea Spoon Oil
- Salt As Per Taste
- 2-3 Table Spoon Water
- 1/2 Cup Carrot Chopped
- 1/2 Cup Cabbage Chopped
- 1/2 Cup French Beans Chopped
- 1/4 Cup Capsicum Chopped
- 2 Spring Onions Finely Chopped
- 3-4 Garlic Finely Chopped
- 1.5 Tea Spoon Soya Sauce
- 1/2 Tea Spoon Black Pepper Powder
How to Make Veg Momos Recipe
First we have to prepare an outer cover of momos for this we have to take maida, salt and oil in a bowl and mix it well.
Add water in small quantity to make firm dough and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Now we have to make the momos stuffing, for this take all the finely chopped vegetables.
Take a pan and heat oil and add garlic and sauté for 2-3 seconds.
Then add onions and sauté for 10 to15 seconds and add all finely chopped vegetables in it.
Now increase the lame and fry all the vegetables on a medium or high flame. If the pan base is thick keep the flame medium.
Saute fry for 3-4 minutes and add salt, pepper and soya sauce into this.
After adding the ingredients fry it for another 2-3 minutes on high or medium flame.
Turn of the knob and add 2 table spoons of spring onions greens and mix it well.
Now that we are done with our momos inner stuffing we have to give shape to our momos, for this you have to divide dough in two parts and make roll it in 6-7 inch long and cut the dough log into equal slices.
Then make ball of each slice and keep them covered with moist napkins.
Take each dough ball and keep it on a dusted board. Now roll each dough ball into thin circle of 2 to 3 inch in diameter.
Try to make the edges thin and the center thick and add1 to 2 table spoon of vegetable stuffing at the center.
Then lift one side of the edge and start pleating by folding it one by one. Then when the pleats are formed join it at the center.
Prepare all the way using the same procedure and cover the done momos under a moist napkin.
Now that when all your momos are ready they are ready to go for steaming.
Then heat water in a steamer or in an electric cooker and let the water comes at boiling point.
Then keep the momos in a steamer pan with equal distance. Then keep the steamer and let the momos boil for 5-6 minutes.
Don’t overdo the steaming as this will make your momos dry and denser. Remember that the steaming time may vary according to the thickness of the momos.
To check if your momos are steamed properly, it should not feel sticky when touched which means it is done and they will also have a transparent look.
Once you are done with the entire momos, garnish it with finely chopped spring green onions.
Your veg-momos are all ready to be served with momos sauce or chutney.
